Now, that reminds me of something else....
I think it must have been in the late 1990s, at the Rickreall Oregon hamfest, I was offered a 'crystal lapping machine'. ( I think that's what it's called. )
I do not remember any of the conversation and how this topic came up. But at hamfests, you  can meet lots of people with a lot of wisdom and experience
In the industries. I thought it was a very interesting item and offer, but where would I store it? And when would I ever even try to make use of it ? 
But the real question: where did it come from; who used it?  I dunno, Radio Specialties Company in Portland ?
