Grab any old computer powersupply. They are a dime-a-dozen and all are SMPS. I grab
them and convert them to output 13.8 VDC at whatever 12V current they are rated for.

The one I use for my VHF gear will output 13.8 VDC at 25 amps without so much as wincing.

I bought over a dozen brand new computer power supplies for $12.00 each which when
modified slightly output 13.8 VDC at 45 amps. They also have over-voltage and over-current
protection built-in. They were originally made to be used in Dell computers and the
computer-store which had them not only no longer needed them, but they had been sitting in
their storage for several years. They were glad to get rid of them.

I am very curious if any would work at 400 or 800 Hz.
