[Milsurplus] "Vegetation Antenna"

I saw one of those 'turd' devices once; hard to remember just where, but I suppose it was in an electronics school
I attended in the 1970s, and one of the students brought it in. The 'Vietnam' magazine article has a photo of one
of these also, including an X-ray image, but the X-ray is not very revealing at all, in terms of what's actually inside
at any component level.
Didn't one of the electronics magazines discuss this thing also? That would of course, had to have been '73'.
I still have some Meshna catalogs I just can't part with yet. They need a forever home, not to end up in some
recycle can. Those catalogs were a wonder, weren't they? Of course, come to think of it, ALL surplus catalogs were
wonderful.
I recall now, I bought some heavy 6 DC at 25 amp supply, thinking I could use it to provide low volt power for
some surplus gear. I did nothing with it for decades and finally sold it at a hamfest or three back, for $5, still boxed
up from Meshna. Oh well.
Do you remember the 'Command Sets' transmitters they sold, hyping them as foundations for converting to an antenna
tuner, this after 73 ran an article on doing this? Makes me wonder now how many of these transmitters they had on
hand to sell. Kind of a sad fate for the things, but I suppose it helped thin the flock.
