Those that are new to the BC-348 should read the excellent paper by 
K2CBY "Schematic Diagrams and Service Notes". It is available on Bama 
Manuals under Military and BC-348. Is is an excellent source and has 
diagrams that make sense.
Capacitor replacement can be aided by reference to N3FRQ's page
