Do you recall the California collector who specialized in 'morale radios' ? Altho I bought numerous items from him, and shared some information
about AFN stations, at this instant I cannot recollect his name. It will come back to me later. He passed away maybe 5 - 10 years ago; definitely
was a fine person, smart and interesting.

The radio with the number on front, I would guess it was hospital use. I don't think the Officer's Club would have a headphone radio ( is this a
headphone - only radio ? ) and I don't think the club's radio would have inventory number on front. This is just my guess, however. If it was
used in hospital, I think the output level would not be enough to drive ward headphones. I would guess it was in kind of a lounge, like a photo
I saw of a WW2 soldier's lounge, where there were several headphones.

Later Army hospitals from the 1960s and I would guess, earlier, used wired audio distribution to bedsides, I think. I was at some Army hospitals
in the 1960s and foolishly tried to DF the typical "KURE" station ( I think that was Ft. Lawton, Seattle ) with a pocket transistor radio, to no success.
I finally realized the audio was distributed by wire.

There was a company in Spokane, WA, "Spokane Radio Company", that I think made some model or models of 'hospital radios'. I think I saw one
years ago. I'm curious now and will ask on the email groups of the Northwest radio collector clubs.

Thanks, Brian, for posting this and I hope you'll forward my comments to Robert, KD4HSH.
