Kurt,

That description sounds like any typical spares box found on older merchant
ships. I remember seeing shelves of boxes like that on the old Training
Ship EMPIRE STATE V, built in the early 50's, and perhaps even one of the
older meechant tankers I sailed on back in the 80s and 90s.
