[Milsurplus] Horizontal loop on German vehicles

Dave, you bring up the point about "ground wave distances."  In my
experience today most of Hams and my fellow Civil Air Patrol operators
think of HF only in terms of medium to long range.  Is it possible that the
Germans used these radios and antennas for relatively short range tactical
communications?
