Was listening to BBC world news over local NPR station today and heard this report on Afghanistan.
Said various small shops had offered U.S. military equipment, which somehow made its way from
U.S. bases to the civilian market, maybe 'black market'. Said that much / most of the military equipment
now sold in these shops is Chinese replicas, knock-offs. I suppose this means uniform items? Reporter
spoke to an Afghani who said he'd learned English while imprisoned at Bagram prison. He said the
Chinese gear is not of any interest and best to buy only original U.S. items.
