I vaguely remember the manual describing a dummy antenna circuit to use with a signal generator when adjusting the receiver. I wish I kept the manual.
As the sets were retired I kept the coils and taps to use in future tuner projects.
I remember a the a popular VHF set which replaced the MF radios had 6 channels and was crystal controlled. One could get sets with more channels but crystals were expensive.
