 Not to mention.... shrinking brass, shrinking & warping not-really-plastic plastics, cracking press-fits (e.g., our beloved trimmer caps), rotting rubber, oxidizing copper & solder, metal whiskers... 
Hamlet's "thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to" assails all materials, given enough time.

May I also respectfully add the S meter faces for the Hallicrafters 
S-27? The plastic in them shrinks slightly over the 80 years since 
they have been made, making all the meter faces crack at the mounting 
screws. Also, the late 1920's Fada Special Tuning condenser support 
arms are made out of pot metal, so they crystallize and eventually 
break with age.
