[Milsurplus] [ARC5] WTB: 803 Socket

Hi, Mark.
My GO-9 also had an 813 "shoe-horned" in,
which I correct back to 803.   I don't
understand the reasoning as the voltages
in the GO-9 are above the screen max
rating for an 813.  I think it has grid current
issues as well, but maybe thinking of
another "improvement."

I found out (the hard way) that the 803 socket
in the TBW/GO-9 is a "special" animal, smaller
than the ones you usually see.  I was fortunate
in that I picked-up a 60-cycle-fried GP-7 which
had the correct smaller 803 socket.
If you need, I will try to get to the socket
and measure its dimensions.
Here are two photos of the correct socket
mounted.  The rubber grommets were gone,
so I used faucet washers to replace them.

The red paint is high-voltage corona dope because
there were carbon tracks on the bottom of the
socket.  I cleaned them best I could and doped
the socket, and it seems to have worked OK.
