Thank you ! Exactly. What I thought was an IF filter I see is stamped "2 Transistors + Diode".
The rest of the circuit matches, except this example has an S meter, but I can figure that out.
I saved the pages and also printed a copy to work with. That was quick !

Possibly a kit from Popular Electronics or similar. Here is a 6 xstr receiver with IF module on page 41.
