 From NAVSHIPS 93285(B)    AN/URC-32

IN THE PAST THE NT-51007A CARBON HANDSET WAS NORMALLY USED AT REMOTE
CONTROL UNITS.

THE AN/URC-32 SERIES IS PROVIDED WITH AN IMPROVED DYNAMIC HANDSET, THE
HANDSET H-169/U, WHICH INCORPORATES A NOISE-CANCELLING MICROPHONE AND A
TRANSISTOR AMPLIFIER.

BuSHIPS HAS PROCURED A LIMITED NUMBER OF *FIELD CHANGE KITS WHICH WILL
MODIFY THE NT-51007A TO THE EQUIVALENT OF THE H-169/U. W*HEN THE H-169/U
BECOMES AVAILABLE THE USE OF THIS HANDSET AT REMOTE
CONTROL UNITS IS PREFERRED.AS IT WILL IMPROVE THE OVERALL FIDELITY OF
ALL TRANSMITTERS.

This note may explain why there is no schematic for the H-169/U handset
in the publication.
