Thanks, Dave, and also Dave Stinson.
I found between 1 & 2, 250 ohms.
Pin 3 goes to P4, shell, when button is pressed. Key is on P1. I'll see if this fits the MN but - I can't imagine
the military used a cloth covered cord in their environment. The W.E. boat radios used a rubber covered
mic cord also. So I conclude this must be for police type radio use.

It does look like a Motorola or GE handset. Both Motorola and GE used the same type of connector but they keyway was offset so they couldn't be interchanged. (Motorola was carbon or transistorized equivalent and the GE was a dynamic mic).

Given that the mic element is carbon, it is probably a Motorola mic. Look up the FHTRU series pack set, the H23AAC-1100, the AN/PRC-58 and the
AN/PRC-61 as well as others. All of the mics of the older sets were interchangeable regardless of the vintage.

WB6NVH has a vintage Motorola website:

He has a large number of vintage Motorola radios pictured with a brief narrative.

Motorola mic pin out:

Pin 1 Mic hi
Pin 2 Mic low when PTT button was pressed Pin 3 PTT Pin 4 and shell Ground
