Hi Ray,
Michigan has told us that people like over 65 (we are 73) can go get
our vaccinations starting yesterday. However, it turns out there is no
vaccine in our part of the state. We are told 'maybe by mid-summer. For
sure by the end of the year. As you have pointed out, we have alredy
lost an entire year from our lives. My wife and I don't have many more
years to lose (if any). We atre letting out some of the leash. Jamming
and card games with close friends who are also sick and danged tired of
the BS. We still don't want covid so no wild parties.
we know that two of our old, frail friends with failing hearts now have
the covid. The oldest of them is not hospitalized (yet). If she
survives we may let our leash out some more.
I had a 'telehealth' appointment with my doctor a week ago. I told him
about our 'covid fatigue' and he assured me it is a real thing. He
thinks my starting back to jams with our musician friends is a good
idea. There won't be any dances or other venues to play for audiences
but we will take what we can get. We can't just run rampant but our
mental health is every bit as important as our avoidance of covid. It's
all about balance and we are sailing in heavy seas right now. Hold on
the best you can.
73,
Bill KU8H
