Marc, how late do you think the BC-639 + 640 were used?
The 640 is a big beast to own !
You might think about writing some memoirs of your duty there and what the day to day was like, what the food was like,
recreation, storms, and so on. I am sure some people would be fascinated to read that?

....Just as an aside, the BC639 and BC640 were our working VHF radio's when I arrived at the Gap Filler radar site
in Alaska in March 1972. I have some experience maintaining those , they were installed when the site was built in
1951 and initially had Army Signal Corps WWII surplus radios installed.
