I discovered the same thing. My local hardware store is home depot. arrggghh

Sigh....I wish it were so. No one has made that 1" outside diameter twin blade female connector for many years.
I finally found one extension cord with it on the end, and have guarded it from the ravages of time for thirty years. I do have the equivalent same size in the half-semicircular blade female connector, but then you would have to find and install the male chassis mount version in place of the original. Yours for postage if you are interested.
