There are huge amounts of RT-524 radios in circulation that have been demiled, usually by removing the PA tube and heat sink but have also seen where the radios have been completely gutted.
That radio makes a great box for installing a CD player or AM/FM radio and being the radios are hacked by the government anyway you're not lousing anything.
I have always been amazed by the number of the VRC-12 radios the MV people have that don't work and they don't care just as long as they have something that looks correct in their vehicle.
With the M-37 would want something a little older like a PRC-10 with a AM-598 and with all the open space in a AM-598 after you gut it you may be able to install a CD player, Radio and a couple other things!
