All,
I think the top Hallicrafters is a RBK-1, Hallicrafters S-27 (VHF)
on board to listen for Japanese shipborne air defense radar in the 6M - 130 Mc range
The USS England used theirs to help locate and then sink six Japanese subs over a 2-week period.
