Cool, that's a Old School radio for you! Sounds like you are on the way to having a SCR-193 although I think they used a BC-191 transmitter. Always thought that would be a way cool set up for something like a half track or command car!
I once had a ARC-8 set up with a ART-13 and BC-348 with open wire feeds to a outside long wire but had issues with the receiver picking up all the noise from everything in the shack, also you got to keep in mind that weird voltages can build up on those old open wire feed systems and that can be shocking. Wonder if that's why you would see all those ceramic insulators inside the old WW2 aircraft on the antenna cables?
