Hello Werner, the 1MC of that era uses 809 tubes, not 811s. The bases are the same but 811s have a substantially higher filament current 4A vs 2.5A so with the four tubes the filament trans will be overworked. Also the amplification factor is 50 for the 809s vs 160 for the 811s.

We had a working (after restoration) 1MC aboard the USS Ling in Hackensack NJ until
hurricane Sandy and some vandals came along. A good amp, easy to work on with the tilt-out chassis.

Hopefully not too OT, but I picked up a preamplifier and audio amplifier that appears to be part of a MCG or maybe a AN/SIA-4 1MC system. It has an acceptance date of 1944 for the Navy and is listed as part of the MCG system, synonymous with 1MC/17MC related communications circuits. Don't have the full rack unfortunately, just one of the main power amplifiers with 4X 811A tubes and the voltage amplifier "preamp". Thanks to Nick's website for brief info about the set: http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals/94200/94200_1_01-4.pdf<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.navy-radio.com%2Fmanuals%2F94200%2F94200_1_01-4.pdf&data=04%7C01%7C%7C7fceea06259b41d0b77908d8ce0b635f%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637485895599981126%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=CS8b5g7og49oeBhjm0%2Fwq4U9Tr4feb9cAkH9DYnGD3A%3D&reserved=0>

I haven't been able to find much info on it elsewhere. I purchased a RCA Navy manual for an MCG of similar vintage, but the tubes did not lineup with the tubes of my Remler. Any schematic tips? Any museum ships missing pieces of their MC, specifically this one?
