I am spending a few days at my brother's selecting out things from my accumulation i will keep. I consider this beast the piece de resistance of my things. This is a long distance LF / HF radio as used on patrol planes such Kawanishi 4 engine 'flying boats' and sometimes G4M Betty. About 100 watts out, CW telgraphy only. It only took me 30 years to find the transmitter lower section to accompany my already acquired receiver top section, but that many years of longing and imagining got the result. I only this hour finally married the two. There are coupling links to fix the two sections together, which accomodates different aircraft configurations where the two sectons might be differently located.
Yes, i do plan to build an AC PS for this and once again after most of a century its note will be heard over the Pacific. I do not have time in my allotment for another project of such length.
What were the odds of finding two matching sections ? I know of 5 such sets existing in the world.
Special thanks to you, Mr. H. K., who made this completion possible.
