Thought I had a schematic for the BC-148, 156 but can't find it.
In any case, it's a self excited single tube VFO. I think about 10 watts input.
Actually, I want to sell both, but the 148 requires repair and the BC-156, I need
to try to find associated parts for the basic handcrank generator I have. I have
not actually yet shopped for #10 tubes. I think it might be useful to know possible
workarounds. I would not trouble you for a whole detailed article for that.
