I'm building a 12VDC dynamotor chassis for my BC224, and was checking the motor out. While it is not the spec's motor for the RX, it has the same volts and current rating. It is not on its mount, just 4 wires sticking out the bottom, so opened it up to figure out what was what. I put 12 volts on the LV end, and it is turning backwards. Oh well, must have looked at something wrong. Swap leads, and still turning backwards. Pondered this a minute until I looked at the almost scraped off metal ID plate where it was printed on the edge, HV, with an arrow pointing in the wrong direction, but on the LV side of the motor. Somewhere in this dynamotors life, somebody took the name plate off and when they put it back on, they put it on backwards. But, this dynamotor ran the same direction no matter the polarity of the DC. Is that because the stator would now be reversed too? This particular motor has 2 wires exiting the motor that are hooked together for - HV, a single wire for + HV, one wire for +12 and the frame for -12.
