[Milsurplus] Hacked ARR-7 question

This hacked ARR-7 on Ebay ( steal it at $399 ), what does this knob in place of the
snout do? It's not geared down, fine tuning, right? I'm thinking it's faster, coarser
tuning even than the normal tuning knob to the right.
