[Milsurplus] was AN/ARC-21 or 65 but back to the ARC-38

Going back to the ARC-38 and 618S-1 for a bit.

The ARC-38 and 618S series supply generates
Hi Voltage from dynamotor, and the other voltages
from 120V 400 cycle 1 phase. 28V is supplied
by the aircraft to run the dynamotor, filaments
and control circuitry. These are the DY-118 and
416W-1 and from what I can tell are identical.

There *might* be another supply, the 416W-3
which generates its voltages from 120V 400 cycle
3 phase. But whether or not it generates 28VDC
internally, or uses 28VDC from the aircraft, I
don't know. I don't have any documentation for
it. (Anyone have a copy of the manual for it?)

In fact, I don't know for sure that it is an
alternate supply for the 618S-1, I'm only
going on the fact that it fits the rack, the
connector is the same, and it carries
the 416W type number.

I have one of these, but don't have any
3 phase 400 cycle to play with.

Which brings up another question.

Is there a document anywhere which describes the
Collins nomenclature scheme? Commercial receivers
seem to the 51 series, amateur receivers were
75, and 618 seem to aircraft transceivers.

But is there a master list of what is what?
