[Milsurplus] [ARC5] re-key Cannon connectors ?

If the Cannon K-series connectors were made by Cannon, the two halves of the
insert is held in place by a small (hard to remove) circlip. If after
removing the circlip, the inserts don't fall out like they normally do, make
a receiver out of a piece of scrap aluminum and press them out. If you have
to make a receiver, don't forget to use an end mill to cut a relief slot for
the alignment key which should be a 1/2" long 1/16" diameter nylon rod.

If the connector was made by Aero (a Cannon subsidiary) the insert may be
retained by the screws that attach the straight or right angle back shell.

All but two of the connectors used with the ARB/ATB have different key
locations but the same SK-C16 insert. Only one will fit the TCS
transmitter.

The original connectors for the TCS and most other sets all have the Cannon
part number metal stamped on them. The ones used on the ATB/ARB do not but
do have the RCA number ink stamped on them.

Subject: [ARC5] re-key Cannon connectors ?

I have several of the Cannon connectors with the pin pattern used in ARB,
ATB, TCS and maybe others.
But - the " key " is in different locations. I took one apart to see if I
could rekey it, but I don't see a way
to do this. The insert is somehow friction fit inside the connector shell,
and I see no practical way to
rotate the insert. Your verdict ?
