One respondent asked me if 5-pin Euro tubes would do, removing the one center pin. I don't know but I suspect the Euro or Brit tubes
with 5 pin pattern of - - 4 pin outer with one pin in center of pattern - - would work. I would suspect the actual pin diameters of these
different bases to be different also, but I don't know. 

As I have scant chance of finding such tubes here, I can either: shop for the most inexpensive 4 pin tubes from Europe, or - just use wire
pin inserts from the new octal socket to the original Japanese tube socket.

I do not have my 94-5 set handy, but I still wonder if the tube area has high enough ceiling to allow the tube adapters and US tubes to be
installed and the set still fits in cabinet. 

I have the receiver you pictured and the matching transmitter.
