[Milsurplus] Japanese 94-5 Corrosion

I gathered hulks and parts for years and finally rebuilt
a fully operational WWII Japanese 94-5 receiver. Only thing
missing is the "Military Secret" tag on top.`
To help make supple and preserve the leather cover flaps,
I gave them several generous rub-downs with Mink Oil.
The leather now looks and feels excellent, but after about a
year, the green corrosion you see in the attached photo
has started. Anyone have any ideas about how
to mitigate it without doing more harm?
