I can't argue with the tube date codes but I sure don't understand it being built in late 1945.
I wonder if that production date refers to the power supply, not the radio ? 
You know that China was the U.S. Navy's turf through half WW2 and also the Philippines was
Navy turf until the Army started planning for the invasion. I mean in terms of teams in place
and equipment supplied. For example the only service photo of the DAG I have seen is from
China and the MBM radio I have history of that used in Philippines. 

One other thing. Unlike other countries, the U.S.A. never liked regen receivers for actual,
I mean actual real - life, clandestine agent operations.
