It's even more bizarre.
The jack in the osc cathode is for the, get this, microphone !
The J2 connector for receiver has an option for "generator", but you would think the generator is for the transmitter.
Unless the generator had two output connectors ??
With the generator wiring to the receiver, the receiver final audio is zero biased. With battery supply, the output stage
is self biased via a resistor in the B-.
As Mike pointed out, audio could be sort of controlled by selecting output transformer taps. But a 3 stage regen with
no audio or RF gain control is something that went out by the early 1930s.
Very strange item.
