I'm not sure there is an ethic to enforce when it comes to mainland QC, Hue.
I've simply shifted my "acceptance ethic" to expect "some machining required" for most of the mainland stuff.:-)
It saves fretting about it, and I get to do it right. Win-win!

Top: original antenna sections connected ( simple push – insert )
Middle: original antenna sections, worst case fit together. I acquired these pre – May 1945 manufacture sections just this year.
Bottom: 2018 replicas, bought from Hong Kong. This is as far as they insert !
I don't get it. The repro maker went so far as to include a "Waffenamt" Arms Ministry acceptance stamp.
He had of course, had to have had the original item, to create the repro at a Chinese machine shop.
But just couldn't get it right. Didn't notice the poor fit, or didn't give a damn?
The repros were not cheap, either. About $90 a section. This adds up.
What is the China QC ethic ? "A good transaction is one where we get your money" ?
A Norwegian repro seller I asked about these repros, before I was able to acquire the real thing, assured me
the repros should look like this. I do not get it. Seems to me that any elementary school child could tell the product was not quite
right.
