[Milsurplus] TV7 Type 83 rectifer replacement

Charlie, I have wondered the same thing. Only idea I could think of is a series resistor in the transformer primary. Otherwise you have a lot of voltage to drop after the ss diodes.

Does anybody have info on replacing the 83 in a TV7 with diodes?  What size dropping resistor is needed to maintain calibration?  Is there another tube rectifier that will do the job?
