[Milsurplus] ARN-8 Marker Beacon Receiver

Good Morning,
Back in the day I had gotten one of these receivers bymail order from a west coast surplus dealer. I traced outthe circuit and thought some details strange. This hasbeen bugging me for years.
Recently I found a copy of the manual, which gave anexplanation for the design. If anyone else is puzzled bythis odd duck, I scanned the manual and would be happyto send a copy.
