[Milsurplus] SCR-59

Can someone enlighten me regarding the SCR-59 and SCR-68 airborne sets from World War I? One online source indicates SCR-59 comprises receiver type BC-12 and is the “receiving unit of SCR-68”. Looking at the SCR-68 however, it is clearly a receiver and transmitter in one box whereas the SCR-59 / BC-12 appears to be a stand-alone receiver. I am familiar with the SCR and BC nomenclature system since I have plenty of World War II equipment but this one has me slightly puzzled. 

Also, does anyone know of a source for a pair of WE-205 / VT-2 tubes?
