I salute you, sir. That is a noble enterprise. I really mean it. 
I'd long been thinking of kind of a directory, but ....i would have it primarily pictorial, I mean a face - on image of the connector, and the series progressing by numbers
of contacts. I don't have a lot of manual docs, only one USAAF cross - reference, but I do have a lot of manuals, and many of those have a drawing of the connector. 
So I think that would be kind of a reverse directory:  I found this, now what does it go with ? 
This would be a project, but at least it would be fun, and be useful too, to others.
