[Milsurplus] WWII Japanese Radio Equipment in Houston Auction

Right, this is called "the Japanese HRO", I think also called "Chi-Ichi" or "Ground – Air Receiver 01". This 1930s design was actually one of Japan's most advanced receivers in the
war years. The receiver nameplate has been removed and two of the coils don't look so nice. There is the dynamotor supply for field use.

The small set is the "94-6 Wireless Set", a low VHF walkie talkie, one tube. The circuit is pretty much like the most basic 5-meter transceivers you saw in mid 1930s short wave
magazines. As I understand it, 94 means Japanese empire year 2594 = 1934 C.E. and model #6 for this year. Maybe something like our "M1911 45 cal. pistol" naming convention.
This is quite a common radio BUT the antenna kit in the bag are extremely rare. The handcrank gen is also rare but the antenna is much rarer. The setup here includes the earphones
– throat mic assembly.
Of course I would like to get accessories to complete some sets of mine, but those sets there should stay together.
Thanks for posting that link !

Will probably be during the Saturday radio auction. Some neat stuff! One looks kind of like an HRO copy.
