HueNo maximum length of control cable is mentioned in the ARB manual. It does mention that the control cable is supplied in 12 foot lengths with one connector already mounted. I would imagine that the maximum control cable length is at least 12 feet. I didn't look to see if there was a way to mate two control cables and extend the distance between the radio and it's control.
Have noticed a few AN/ARN-59 aka ARC R-30 ADF receivers listed on eBay lately. Perhaps this radio is the last of the tube powered ADF radios? All subminiature soldered-in tubes except for the BFO which uses an early transistor which is sealed into the BFO assembly. Solid state ADF receivers seem to have more volume then this radio.

I wonder why people argue over the 10% of their differences and ignore the 90% they agree on?

I see one ARB is locally controlled and one remote. This brings to mind a question: how long could the tuning cable be? I labeled this photo in my archive as "K-28 Blimp" but I have another photo with same label but has 2 RU receivers instead, with the same GP transmitter. Can you shed light on what lighter than air craft these actually should be labeled? tnx, Hue Miller ______________________________________________________________
