[Milsurplus] R-390 vs R-390A

I saw recently an article on "solidstating the R-390A". Now before you scream in outrage, I just want to comment,
and see how any members respond. My concern, IF this is possible, would be about the AGC and gain distribution.
It seems to me that would be quite difficult to get right. I do not think I would want to take that on. Single conversion
receiver, okay; those are pretty much cookie-cutter designs, and even if the AGC level slope is less than ideal, it still
works out alright.
