[Milsurplus] AN/GRC-103 Question

The AN/GRC-103 transmitter/receiver is listed as having the following
frequency ranges:

Band 1     220-405 MHz
Band 2     395-705 MHz
Band M     610-960 MHz
Band 3     695-1000 MHz
Band 4     1350-1850 MHz

Why is the third band designated "*Band M*"?
