Hi Mike

 I think the box you are referring to is the RM-29 remote used to get a EE-8 hooked up with the radio.

Whats interesting is , at least to me, is the other receiver in the rack looks to be a BC 923 as used with the SCR 808/828
The Tech Sargent sitting there is blocking it but not enough to see a bit of the speaker and the master freq dial.
