[Milsurplus] Not the 'things', the people

I deal with 2 places, one that handles a lot of milsurp aviation gear, and still has unopened crates of stuff, plus a site called 'Play Things of the Past', where you can find 80 year old IF cans. In both cases, the owners are dealing with health issues, PT of the P is for sale as a biz and currently answers no inquiries. I don't think it will necessarily be the 'things' that we need for the old gear, it will be the folks who have a love of all those 'things' and keep them categorized and for sale or whatever for all of us to access. Face it, our love of all this old gear seems to die with us, as nobody promotes it but us, and outside of us it is to mostly a deaf group. Old cars, trucks, guns, boats, airplanes, even guitar and guitar amps have a great following and even magazines about them. Those enthusiasts actually like to seem them run, fly, float, play loudly, and shoot. Our main 'organization' apparently would like to see us die off more quickly.

If anybody has the flat mounting adapter plate and fixture that mounts to the fuselage to hold the phenolic tube for the trailing wire antenna that fits a B17F, I have a brand new round ball mounting adapter for the B17G I am willing to trade, can even throw in an original phenolic trailing wire feed tube with the metal weight nest on the end. We actually found a guy with a serious bunch of those phenolic tubes he intended to use for garden fence posts, had no clue what they were for.
