Good question. If I ever find one, I’ll investigate!
I don’t see any audio amp in this photo

It *might* be a 600 ohm audio output transformer?

This unit was part of the control console at some NAVCOMMSTA receiver
sites. There is a shipyard drawing reference for the LM-15a mounting rack,
speaker, etc. but of course I don’t have that.
