The manual will be scanned in the very near future.
I had thought about writing a little article for Electric Radio next Spring. But I met a fellow recently who is into McLaughlin SSB adapters and I'd like to convince him to do the article.
Also a scan to the author of that Communications Receivers book.
Years back, I knew Jim Barrows W7BCT of Bothell, WA, who worked for the FCC in Portland and Seattle WW2. He verified that this setup had been used by the FCC. In small quantities
obviously; not like the wall of SX-28s that they also had.
To be perfectly clear, this was not known as an SX-28, or an SX-28 plus MC-2; the desk actually bore the nameplate " RADIO RECEIVER SSR-202 ". The other photos show that, and by
squinting you can make out the nameplate.

>Hue,
That's such a rare receiver - first I've seen or heard of one - it would be great if you could scan whatever document you have that this info was taken from. All the internet seems to know is from the radiomuseum site, which says it was intended for headphone only use. But, there's that speaker!
Darn nice looking setup IMHO.
