I wonder if the microwave oven transformers, from before the oven power supplies went to RF power supplies,  would be a good item for such
as GO and TBW use. As I recall, they put out about 1300 and use a voltage doubler. Without the doubler, if you use some kind of cap input
filter, you're going to get a pretty high B+, probably high enough to make the 803 happy.
The topic reminded me I have stashed away 1 or 2 of those transformers, dead weight which I should dispose of. I'm never going to own anything
using that high a B+, nor I am going to be building a welding machine.
