Agreed. The IRS did seize it for back taxes and then tried to subsequently sell it at auction. If I recall they needed close to $2,000,000 to close a sale and no-one was able to do so. Now the municipality a has a real headache as the Federal Govm't is notorious for neglecting the foreclosed properties it holds. It will in the most likely scenario have to be razed by the municipality who will the attach the associated costs to the tax roll of that parcel. Razing a structure of that size and age could easily exceed $300,000.

No they can’t, the entire property was seized by the IRS for non-payment of federal taxes about 2 years ago. Even if the owners still held the property, the IRS would attach to any insurance settlement. Then again, if you’re not paying your federal taxes, you probably stopped paying the insurance also.
Unfortunately the tornado didn’t knock down enough of Hara

looks like the tornado made an improvement hihi. Glad no one got hurt. That tornado might have helped them. Now they can claim some on insurance.

There were tornados last night just north of Dayton Ohio in Trotwood. The old Hara Arena was hit and lost part of its roof and was damaged. Perhaps this is the final end to the Hara Arena? The longtime home to the Dayton Hamvention before it moved to Xenia three years ago.
Somehow as soon as I learned of the tornados just above Dayton last night thought of this and now you can see the video for yourself.

Maybe the last chapter in the Hara story.
