I can't comment on the inductor design but I would suggest installing such inductor inside the radio itself, if there's room.
At least with Heising, you know you're never going to overmod and splatter.

I like where the manual sez will work with antenna down to 4 ft.  Like if most of the antenna is shot away, or you want no radio profile for the enemy.
