Looks like the Navy's Soundscriber is not as tall as the one shown in Wiki ??

Many years ago at a surplus store in Seattle, someone came by to offer the manager some mil surplus items.
One item I remember was a disk turntable thing, but more like an actual modern turntable in size than the Soundscriber size.
This thing was black wrinkle finish and as I recall, I think it had shockmounts also.
I still wish I had more time to look it over.
In those days, no one particularly cared for 'rare, unusual'. It was, "usable, or convertable".
The seller also had an AXR-1 television receiver and an SPR-2 UHF receiver.

I also recall a unit, about the size 12 x 10 x 8 inches, which was the terminal unit for a harbor magnetic detecting system,
for detecting ship ( or submarine ) entries into a harbor. I wonder if anything like that survived.
