What Robert said.

Personally, I've never understood why the 6V6 or 6L6 were ever used as crystal oscillators: 
their "beam power" construction totally eliminates any POSSIBLE ECO action, and they are 
actually hard on crystals.

Although most tube manuals list the 12A6 as a "Beam Power Pentode", I think it is actually 
simply a "Power Pentode" exactly like the 6K6, which is ALSO shown as a "Power Pentode" 
and not a beam tube.

As such, they both should make better oscillators than the 6V6.
