Actually, the AB-15/GR, which I think these were, dates from 1944 or late
1943. It's first usage was with the SCR-508 and 608. It stayed in service
for a long time as such things go.

These antenna bases were used on the USMC 151 and other vehicles that had
the axillary Receiver R442 with the main transceiver was the RT-525 with
MX-6707 antenna matching unit. I saw a few Rt-246 but the RT-525 was the
most common transceiver in the Fleet Marine Force.
